Commercialization workshop series
The Von Allmen Center and the Lexington Innovation & Commercialization Center sponsored a four-part commercialization workshop series that began in 2011 and continues in 2012. The workshop series was designed to help scientists, engineers and other high tech professionals develop a business from their research. Workshop series topics included protecting intellectual property, writing a business plan, accounting, seeking funding and using social media.
"We planned this series to give researchers at UK and entrepreneurs in the community a toolbox of some of the key elements that are part of a successful technology company," said Warren Nash, director of the Lexington Innovation & Commercialization Center (ICC).
The next workshop, “Seeking Funding Opportunities & Investors,” is March 20 in the W.T. Young Library.
