Fayette County Now Eligible for FEMA Assistance After May Storms, Application Deadline is July 12

LEXINGTON, KY (June 18, 2010) — Fayette County residents that sustained damages or losses from the early May storms are now eligible for federal disaster aid. In counties designated for Individual Assistance, homeowners and renters may apply for FEMA assistance by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or 1-800-462-7585 from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. EDT, seven days a week. Applicants can also apply online.

Low interest disaster loans are also available to homeowners, renters, businesses of all sizes and private, non-profit organizations to repair or replace real estate, personal property, machinery and equipment, inventory and business assets that have been damaged or destroyed in a declared disaster.

The registration deadline for FEMA disaster assistance and SBA loan applications is July 12, 2010.
