Cornerstone Innovations' Wade Powell and Geoff Carlson with Brian Raney from Awesome Inc.LEXINGTON, KY (March 5, 2012) –Cornerstone Innovations won top honors at 5Across on Feb. 29 at Awesome Inc. with an idea for a high-flow disposable cup lid. 5Across is five bimonthly rounds of competition where local entrepreneurial teams have five minutes to present their business pitch for a chance at $500 and a presentation to the Lexington Venture Club.

Wade Powell and Geoff Carlson with Cornerstone Innovations told the judges that the lids will allow runners to consume water or sports drinks quickly without slowing down, choking or spilling the liquid. Their pitch was chosen by a panel of local experienced entrepreneurs and business leaders, and an audience texting in their votes.
