LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 28, 2010) —Lisa Kurek of Biotechnology Business Consultants (BBC) will be conducting the workshops. BBC works with universities, economic developers, and large & small companies to facilitate the establishment and growth of new technology-based companies. The firm's two primary areas of focus are assisting technology companies in securing federal SBIR/STTR funding and commercialization & business planning for early-stage life science companies.

Lisa is Managing Partner of BBC and BBC, etc. In addition to overseeing all aspects of client relations at BBC, Lisa is nationally recognized as a trainer in grant writing and commercialization for entrepreneurs. Her experience includes R&D and product development, sales and marketing, and business development and executive management.

Together, the Federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program and the Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) program award over $2 billion to small high-tech businesses annually.
