Films on Demand
The Office of eLearning is pleased to collaborate with UK libraries to sponsor Films On Demand. This is a humanities and social sciences streaming video platform that gives you access to educational programs that you can incorporate into your online lesson plans and distance learning courses. Some of the highlights of this service include:
- No need to obtain copyright clearance to use any of the contents
- Ease of use for both faculty and students
- Wide variety of subjects covered
- Ability to search for specific videos, organize videos into folders and create personal playlist for others to view
- Integration of videos directly into Blackboard
Access to Films On Demand is an open system to anyone on the university network and can be found at: http://digital.films.com.
Off Campus Access
Those who need to access the resource from off campus will need to use EZProxy. The EZProxy system allows off-campus access to information resources that are restricted to UK students, staff, and faculty, including community faculty. If you use these resources from an on-campus computer, your computer is identified as being on the UK network and you can access the resources seamlessly. Instructions for using EZProxy can be found here.
Please note that even once you add the link to the desired video to your Blackboard shell, off campus students will still need to use EZProxy in order to view it.
If you or your students need help using Films On Demand or EZProxy please contact the Distance Learning Librarian:
