Kelley Cruse has worked as an Instructional Designer in Higher Education since 2009. Miranda Hines leads the Distance Learning team in providing guidance and support with distance learning compliance, policy, faculty and program consultations, grants, and other considerations that impact distance learning. Miranca has a B.S. in Individual and Family Development from the University of Kentucky, a M.S. in Human Resource Education from the University of Louisville, and 22 years of Higher Education experience. Her expertise is in organizational & employee development, management, and policy oversight.

Sarah Asher is a course designer for the Learning Management Team She also supports many instructional technologies used for synchronous and asynchronous teaching and learning for both online and hybrid courses. Sarah consults with faculty and students in the use of instructional technology, as well as assists in troubleshooting difficulty. Prior to working for the Office of eLearning, Sarah worked as technical support in both the Learning Systems Support group and ITS Customer Services. Sarah has one degree from Eastern Kentucky University's College of Arts and Sciences - Master's in Biology, and one degree from the University of Kentucky's College of Arts and Sciences - Bachelor's in Biology.
Educational Technology Solutions Specialist

Buddy Hall specializes in various educational technology tools such as learning management and audience response systems. He enjoys working with faculty to assist them with selecting the right tools for their specific needs and maximizing the effective use of these tools by leading workshops and training seminars. Buddy received a BBA in Decision Science and Information Systems from the University of Kentucky. He is also interested in analytics and reporting as well as roller coasters, amusement parks, and themed entertainment.

Marshall Herbst is an Instructional Designer with the Learning Management Team. Marshall comes to us with a strong background in experimental and experiential pedagogy. Marshall graduated with honors in History and Psychology from Hanover College, and holds a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Kentucky. Marshall has also earned a Secondary Montessori teaching credential from the American Montessori Society. Marshall is passionate about holistic teaching, mental health advocacy, and student success through innovative education. Marshall enjoys running, volunteering, and spending his weekends camping or hiking.
Release & Deployment Coordinator

Franklin Johnson is the Release and Deployment Coordinator for academic systems. In this role, Frank coordinates the testing process of eLearning tools including evaluating the tool and determining how the tool will work with other academic systems. He also works closely with students, faculty and staff in troubleshooting issues as they arise that prevent them from using the technology. Frank has worked at the Service Desk as a second level support tech, but prior to that he completed 20+ years of military service as an Information Systems Specialist in the US Navy. Frank enjoys cooking, reading historical fiction, and distance running.

Tia N. Williams is an Instructional Designer who is passionate about introducing innovative technology integration practices to support learning. Tia has an extensive educational background with a B.A. in Psychology and Liberal Studies from Kentucky State University, and a M.S. and Ed.S. in Counseling Psychology, an M.S. in Instructional Systems Design, and a Graduate Certificate in Instructional Communication from the University of Kentucky. Tia has worked as an Adjunct Professor at Kentucky State University teaching General Psychology, served as a collaborator on the Educational Specialist in Counseling Psychology Handbook (2014) at the University of Kentucky, and worked as a graduate and teaching assistant in the Graham Office of Career Management located in the Gatton College of Business and Economics at the University of Kentucky. While obtaining her instructional design degree, Tia was the primary instructor for Introduction to Instructional Media, where she prepared pre-service teachers to integrate instructional technologies into their future classrooms and curriculum. As an Instructional Designer in the Office of eLearning, Tia consults with and supports faculty in designing and developing hybrid and online courses that incorporate effective technology and pedagogy elements to enhance student learning outcomes
Distance Learning Coordinator

Jackie Briscoe has worked at the University of Kentucky for 34 years, starting in the Registrar’s Office and then moving to Distance Learning. She is the liaison to the Registrar’s Office for the accurate listing of distance learning courses each semester, including how and where they are delivered. She works closely with distance learning students to complete their registration and is also able to troubleshoot admission/registration/financial aid issues. Jackie compiles, coordinates, and updates the interactive video course schedule for courses connected throughout Kentucky and nationwide. Jackie also compiles extensive data for reports on distance learning.

Emily Woods is the compliance coordinator for Distance Learning where she manages the State Authorization process and ensures that the University and its distance learning programs are compliant with state and federal regulations. Emily earned a B.A. in English from the University of Kentucky and a MSEd in Higher Education from the UK department of Education Evaluation and Policy Studies. In 2013 Emily was an English instructor in China at the Chengdu Sichuan University of International Studies. After returning to Lexington, she worked in Human Resources at UK and then became the Continuing Education Program Coordinator at the College of Nursing where she assisted with data management and accreditation for the program. Emily is originally from Lexington and loves the city! Her hobbies include music (piano and songwriting), reading, yoga, and coffee.
Multimedia Specialist / Faculty Media Depot

As a Multi-Media Specialist, Alex Cutadean assists faculty with the creation and conversion of audio/visual assets. He also contributes to the implementation of technologies within courses. Alex comes to the Office of eLearning from the horse industry where he spent 14 years creating media and implementing technologies for racing, sales, veterinary topics, and horse health education. Alex initially attended Asbury University before obtaining his Bachelor's in Telecommunications from the University of Kentucky.
