The University Email Address (UEA) is a
published email address that will appear in any UK public
paper or electronic directories. Persons within and outside
of UK can send an email to your UEA which will be delivered
your email or a specified other email account
mailbox. It can also protect your email user ID from public
view when you send email, and it allows you to customize
the way your published email address appears to the public.
Your UEA only acts as a postal forwarding
address - rerouting email it receives to an email address
specified by you. It is not, however, an email mailbox that
stores email messages sent to you. You should already have
an email mailbox account, such as Exchange, departmental
email accounts, or Internet email such as Yahoo.
To create and manage your UEA:
- You will need an
active UK account
- Log into the UK Account Manager
Users of email systems other than that provided by UKIT
WILL NOT have to switch to using a UKIT provided address.
