  1. Can I opt out of spam checking, or change the message flagging threshold?
    Yes. Please see http://www.uky.edu/IT/CustomerService/kb/mailgateways/defaultlevels.php.
    Virus Scanning and dangerous attachment blocking will still occur.

  3. What types of attachments are forbidden?
    Executable files are blocked because they can be used to transmit computer viruses. Common extensions of executable files include: exe, bat, vbs, app. There are many others.We will also block other types of files, or even specific file names, if we have reason to believe that the file is being used to spread a virus.

  5. Can I turn off Virus Protection so I can get attachments that are considered Dangerous?
    No. Virus protection, which includes dangerous attachment blocking, is not voluntary. Have the sender add the attachment to a compressed archive like a zip file and send you the archive instead.
