Our Chapters

The University of Kentucky is home to 52 social and cultural fraternities and sororities. These organizations are members of governing councils that assist them with events and programs, communication, and recruitment activities. Below is a listing of our groups by council. Interfraternity Council

The Interfraternity Council  (IFC) is the governing body of 24 men’s social fraternities at the University of Kentucky. IFC works with the member fraternities on areas such as scholarship, community service, and educational programming. Additionally, IFC helps coordinate the formal rush process in both fall and spring semesters.

National Pan-Hellenic Council

The University of Kentucky National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) is the coordinating body for eight historically African-American fraternities and sororities. The council organizes educational programs and community service projects for members and the larger university community, as well as the annual Homecoming Step Show.

Panhellenic Council 

The Panhellenic Council at the University of Kentucky is the governing body of 14 National Panhellenic Conference sororities and one associate member sorority—Phi Sigma Rho. Panhellenic works with the member chapters to coordinate activities such as the Women's Leadership Conference, Panhellenic Primary Recruitment in the fall, and philanthropic events to support Headbands of Hope and DanceBlue. United Greek Council 

The United Greek Council (UGC) represents organizations who have a special interest or culturally-based. UGC hosts educational, cultural, and community service programs for members each semester. There are five chapters in UGC including two fraterntiies and three sororities. The fraternities are Beta Upsilon Chi, a Christian organization, and Sigma Lambda Beta, a Latino organization. The sororities are Kappa Beta Gamma, a social organization; Sigma Lambda Gamma, a Latina sorority; and Theta Nu Xi, a multicultural sorority. Learn more about the organizations below.
