Produce Washing Field Day

9 a.m. to 2 p.m. EDT, at the University of Kentucky Horticulture Research Farm, 4321 Emmert Farm Lane, Lexington. Learn about produce washing best practices, processes and equipment. We will discuss the FSMA Produce Safety Rule’s requirement for postharvest water and how to properly use sanitizers in dunk water to prevent cross-contamination. We will also tour the farm’s packing shed and see how they wash, dry and store produce for maximum quality and food safety.
