MAY GRADUATES AND OTHERS

May graduates and all others that will not be enrolled full-time for the upcoming fall semester do not qualify to live in Graduate & Family Housing. Visiting scholars and post-doctoral scholars that have completed their programs are not eligible to remain in Graduate & Family Housing. All residents should have received a Memorandum detailing this information. If you have questions, please call or visit the Cooperstown office.

SAYING GOOD-BYE

It is that time of year again! Many of our residents will finish their studies or other programs and will move on to bigger things! The hardest part about working in Graduate and Family Housing is losing long-term residents and having to say "good-bye". We want to wish everyone that will be leaving us the best of luck for a prosperous and happy future!

ROOMMATES

Single residents are allowed to have one roommate. The roommate must meet all eligibility requirements. We have new policies that apply to single residents sharing an apartment. Policy 1: Beginning this month, every applicant for housing must pay a deposit of $150.00. This means both roommates will have to pay a $150.00 deposit. The deposit--less any assessed charges--will be refunded when they move out. Policy 2: We will no longer allow an unlimited number of roommate changes in an apartment. Beginning this month, we will allow only two roommate changes per Lease term (this is approximately per year).

PEST CONTROL SCHEDULE

APRIL: Cooperstown Buildings "A" through "G"; Greg Page Buildings 11 through 15.

MAY: Greg Page Building 16; Shawneetown Buildings "A" through "F"; Rose Lane; Linden Walk; German House

SPRING/SUMMER REMINDERS

It won't be long until Fayette County School District dismisses classes for the summer. We will have many children playing on our playgrounds and in our grassy areas. Everyone must stay alert when driving through our communities. Parents must supervise their children when the children are playing outdoors. All bicycles, riding toys and other personal items must be properly stored. Improperly stored items may be removed by University staff. Flowers planted by UK Grounds are for the enjoyment of everyone—please do not pick the flowers or walk in the flower beds.

CRICKET/BASKETBALL COURT

Spring is here and the cricket/basketball season is again back into full swing. Therefore we must remind everyone using the Cooperstown court to be considerate of each other. The cricket players will use the court for their games on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Basketball players can still play on these days with the knowledge that their game will be half court and be willing to share the court with the cricket players. The basketball players will have use of the full court on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

MAINTENANCE TIP OF THE MONTH

Kentucky weather can be unpredictable and our maintenance department will try to monitor the upcoming weather changes to decide when we can safely switch from heat to air-conditioning. We are legally obligated to provide heat until May 1. Please be patient while we get through this seasonal change.
