UK is invested in its employees and makes their health and well-being a priority. The University continues to maintain affordable benefits for its employees by absorbing the rate increase for employees who receive the University's health plan credit and are enrolled in the UK-HMO, UK-RHP and UK-PPO plans. Employees enrolled in the UK-EPO plan will experience a modest increase. The highlights of updates effective July 1, 2016, include:

  • No rate increase for any of UK's dental, vision, life and accidental death & dismemberment plans.
  • In acordance with the Affordable Care Act, the out-of-pocket maximum for health plan co-payments and co-insurance will be increased by $250 for single coverage and $500 for family coverage. This works much like the out-of-pocket maximum for the health plan, so you are guaranteed not to pay more than $3,000 in a given plan year for single coverage or $6,000 for a family plan when using network providers.
  • The UK-HMO and UK-RHP, in partnership with UK HealthCare's Georgetown obstetrics providers, now offer members coverage at Georgetown Community Hospital for their OB services.
  • Delta Dental now offers hearing benefits through Amplifon.
