Moving for Healthy Hearts Challenge

What You Need to Know: 

The American Heart Association University Moving for Healthy Hearts Challenge is an annual 10-week health competition which pits employees from UK against those at the University of Louisville to see who can record the highest average number of steps.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the 3rd annual AHA University Moving for Healthy Hearts Challenge against the University of Louisville! Although we couldn't quite edge out the Cards this year, the tradition of ever-increasing numbers of movers and shakers continued with 121 participants who reached the incentivized level of 425,000 steps...let's make that number even higher next year!

All participants are winners and should be commended for participating and making their health a priority!

Trophy Presentation

Representatives from the American Heart Association and the UK and UofL Health & Wellness Programs will participate in a trophy presentation at the UK vs UofL football game in Lexington on Saturday, September 14, 2013. We hope to speak for all of you in congratulating UofL for their sportsmanship and a match well-played. We'll get 'em next time! 


Register for the American Heart Association's Online Activity Tracker:

  1. Search for and select "University of Kentucky Health and Wellness" as your company.
  2. To be eligible to earn prizes, you must check the box to allow us to see your name, department, e-mail address, and physical activities.

Submit the AHA Waiver Form (PDF) to 170 Lancaster Aquatic Center or fax to 859-323-4700.
