Caregiver Support Group - Difficult Conversations

02-18-2015 | 12:10 pm | Keeneland Room, W.T. Young Library

Join us as we welcome Renee Chase, Community Outreach Coordinator from the Alzheimer's Association. Renee will share ideas on how to navigate the difficult conversations that families eventually must have with their loved ones - legal planning, caregiver support, in-home vs. a long-term care facility, giving up driving, etc. Initiating these conversations can be upsetting for both parties and making these conversations productive can be even more challenging. Renee will help us work our way through these difficult conversations. If you will be attending this session, please complete this very brief survey so the speaker can narrow down the topics to discuss.

Caregiver Support Group

What You Need to Know:

The Caregiver Support Group is for UK employees who are taking care of parents, in-laws, and other loved ones. The group meets the third Wednesday each month, from 12:10 p.m. to 12:50 p.m. in the W.T. Young Library.

What is the Caregiver Support Group?

This is a support group for UK employees who are taking care of parents, in-laws, and other adults in their family. The group provides a supportive atmosphere for caregivers, provides an opportunity for members to help each other through sharing of information and stories, and is a way to learn about resources and other information that pertains to a specific problem or issue.
