UK Elder Care is excited to host a caregiving conference featuring Teepa Snow. As one of America’s leading educators on dementia, Teepa has developed a dementia care philosophy reflective of her education, work experience, medical research, and first hand caregiving experiences. She has clinical appointments with Duke University’s School of Nursing and UNC-Chapel Hill’s School of Medicine. She provides dementia education and training sessions to caregivers, organizations, and providers throughout the country. Teepa is an advocate for those living with dementia and has made it her personal mission to help families and professionals better understand how it feels to be living with such challenges and seeks to change and improve life for everyone involved.

Schedule of Events

Tuesday, November 18, 2014 - UK Chandler Hospital, Pavilion A

7:30 a.m. - 8:15 a.m.: Check-In and Continental Breakfast

8:15 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.: Professional Caregiving in a Clinical Setting 

11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.: Lunch (on your own)

1:00 p.m. - 1:45 p.m.: Coping with Challenging Behaviors

2:00 p.m. - 2:45 p.m: How to Communicate with Someone with Dementia

3:00 p.m. - 3:45 p.m.: How to Enjoy the Holidays When Dementia is Part of the Picture

Registration

Registration will open on August 18.

Continuing education credits are available for healthcare professionals for the following registration fee:

$25 Early Registration (August 18 - October 21)

$40 Late Registration (October 22 - November 5)

Please note registration fees are non-refundable. Morning and afternoon sessions are FREE for family caregivers, but registration is required.
