Memorial Service: UK Remembers

What You Need to Know:

UK Remembers began as a Make the Difference submission from Nathaniel Hopkins, Ph.D., a staff psychologist at the University's Counseling and Testing Center. The first UK Remembers Campus Memorial Service took place in April 2010. Speakers honored students, faculty, staff, alumni, and retirees who had passed away during the 2009-2010 school year.

UK Honors Recently Deceased Students, Staff, Faculty and Alumni

UK students, staff, faculty and alumni, as well as the public, are invited to attend a special ceremony to honor members of the University community we have lost in the past year. The "UK Remembers" event will take place Wednesday, April 9 from 12:15 p.m. - 12:45 p.m., in the Botanical Garden next to the UK Student Center. In the event of rain, the ceremony will move to Center Theater inside the Student Center.

A Continuing Tradition

UK Remembers is now held each Spring. Each year, the campus community is invited to contribute remembrances or names to the UK Remembers memorial wall. During the event, the wall is displayed and attendees can contribute additional messages. Memorial comments are also posted on the UK Remembers Facebook page.
