The 1st Annual Summer Camps Fair presented by the UK Office of Work-Life was a huge success. Thanks to everyone who attended and to all of the camps that participated. Academic/Arts Camps

Camp Midway is offered on the beautiful campus of Midway College, just outside of Lexington. Camp includes lunch a t-shirt for campers.

Frankfort, Lexington and Louisville
Camp Shakespeare is designed to combine the arts with the best parts of the summer camp experience! This includes (but is not limited to) field trips, traditional camp songs and slogans, scavenger hunts and the opportunity to make lifelong friends. Our programs are comprised of high quality theatre instruction combined with competitions, games, and activities designed to excite our campers. This summer will include field trips and will culminate in an invited performance, or ‘Share Day,’ for family and friends showcasing what our campers have been working on during their session.

Lexington, Kentucky
We believe that every child is a scientist and that we can make children even better scientists! All of our hands-on National Science Standard activities make science challenging and fun. Our camp directors are highly trained college graduates, assisted by currently enrolled college students that have been trained by ClubScientific.

The Living Arts and Science Center (LASC) inspires participation in art and science by engaging the community through education, discovery, exploration and creativity.

The Medical Career and Science Institute is a one-week health careers non-residential camp hosted by the Bluegrass Healthcare Consortium that provides students an opportunity to "jump start their career in the health field." MCSI is designed for middle school students who are seriously interested in pursuing a career in a health profession. MCSI provides an opportunity to learn about the variety of careers in health professions and to learn some of the educational requirements leading to those careers.

Newton's Attic provides several science and engineering related summer camps. Some take place in our extensive wood and metal shop where students design and fabricate mechanical devices such as catapults, brain teasing puzzles, robotic devices and more. Others are computer based such as Lego Mindstorm classes, programming with Scratch and Java and digital arts. All classes emphasize the engineering process, the application of basic math and science knowledge and or basic computer skills.

Dates: Camps will run weekly all summer long from the end of May to the first week in August.

The week-long day camp is designed to help middle school students explore and integrate the STEM disciplines through hands-on projects and real world applications. Camp is held on UK's campus and features UK professors, tours of laboratories, and Lego Robotics.

Rockcastle County, Kentucky
Toodle Langa Summer Camp is a unique summer camping experience for campers and families of all ages! The camp is located in beautiful Rockcastle County with camps and workshops offered throughout the summer and fall in various surrounding locations. The emphasis of our camp is: Art through Re-Purposing * Re-Using * Recylcing! Campers will learn to make t-shirts, musical instruments, free form art and crafts by re-using old, discarded items.

The Design Discovery program is an intensive weeklong program held at the UK College of Design. The goal of the program is to explore the many facets of design education. A major emphasis will be placed on the foundational experience of an intensive design studio, where individual education is enhanced and nurtured in a collective environment. During the week, participants will take part in a variety of events on and off campus, including lectures, field trips, office visits and workshops.

The Health Researchers Youth Academy is a two-week residential camp hosted by the UK Area Health Education Center and provides an opportunity to learn about the vast array of careers and opportunities available in health care research. Additionally, participants have the chance to learn some of the requirements for majors leading to a health career.

Athletic Camps

The Athens Academy Junior Golf Program is designed to teach the game of golf in a fun and safe environment. Children will learn from PGA professionals, where the goal is to help junior golfers develop their potential and foster a love for the game.

LYSA is offering several summer soccer camps that will be held at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School soccer stadium. Players will develop skills while having fun. Instruction is by professional teachers with extensive soccer backgrounds. The camp environment is safe with shelter from hazardous weather. A $25 discount for UK faculty and staff and students with children. Just use your UK e-mail as part of your player registration information, and $25 will be rebated to you by mail after the camp is completed.

Chattanooga, Tennessee
For more than 30 years boys have enjoyed an action-packed summer of fun, games, growth and friends at McCallie Sports Camp. Campers play team sports and take part in tournaments, individual sports, and high adventure activities including wall climbing, whitewater rafting and paintball. Excursions include a day at Six Flags over Georgia and an Atlanta Braves baseball game. Campers play all sports and have the opportunity to try new games and improve their skills in familiar sports.

Sayre offers a variety of athletic camps, including basketball, cheerleading, volleyball, and soccer. Come train in our exemplary facilities where athletes play hard, play fair, and improve their skills. Campers in the athletics program will learn the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and effort while having fun.

Your child will be taught the basic fundamentals of the swing, chipping, putting, and course management by the more than qualified instructors. Along with instruction they will experience a true camp feeling interacting with other peers in a competitive atmosphere.

Our camp is held in Nutter Field House and is for female gymnasts only between the ages of 7-18. Along with top notch gymastics instruction, we have games, contests, and activities through the week. Our camp is open to overnighters as well as commuters.

University of Kentucky Soccer Camps
Run by the men's and women's soccer programs at the University of Kentucky, we offer an excellent soccer camp experience for players of all ages and abilities. From you day camps to High School Team and Elite Overnight camps, campers will be coached directly by the UK soccer coaching staffs and varsity players.

Wildcat Summer Softball Day Camp is open to athletes 9 years old to 6th grade. Instruction will include fundamentals of defense, offense, as well as, advanced techniques taugh in an interactive format! All campers will receive a free exclusive Kentucky Softball t-shirt and lunch daily.

The Splash Camps will have two water sessions each day. The morning will be instruction/lessons. The afternoon will be all about fun in the water...games, relays diving boards, inflatables, obstacle courses, cardboard box races, etc. Lunch will be provided as well as other activities so the kids can 'dry-out' for a bit. The Start and Turn Clinics will help swimmers polish their starts and turns leading into their championship season.

This three-day focuses on developing skills in all aspects of the game. Campers will be divided by skill and placed in groups where they will improve and be challenged. Serving, passing, attacking, defense, blocking, setting, team transition and team competition will be taught throughout the camp. Campers will be given all the resources they need to take their game to the next level. This camp is designed for those enter 6-12th grades.

The camp is solely designed for fundamental skill development of hitters in all positions. This one-day intense camp will focus on attacking technique, footwork and developing shots. Campers will receive many repetitions at each of the attacking positions. They will be divided by skill and placed in groups where they will improve and be challenged.

This camp is soley designed for fundamental skill development at all positions. Campers will get a chance to choose which skill they would like to work on, whether it is attacking, passing/defending, or setting. Campers will receive many repetitions at the position of their choosing. They will be divided by skill and placed in groups where they will improve and be challenged.

This camp is soley designed for serving the volleyball. This one-day intense camp will focus on different serving techniques and developing a tough and consistent serve. Campers will receive many repetitions. They will be divided by age/skill and placed in groups where they will improve and be challenged.

This camp's balance between competition and team training will give each team and coach a great opportunity to prepare for the upcoming season. Fundamental skill training and ample amounts of team situations and scrimmages will fill each day. We will provide you with a top coach to train and coach your team. Each school will participate in a tournament on the final day of camp. Team Camp is open to high school varsity and junior varsity teams and must be accompanied by a coach. All campers will receive a camp t-shirt. Space is limited. Must call (859) 257-2532 to reserve a spot!

One day high school team camp designed to allow your team to play together, learn new team concepts and compete in the same arena as the Wildcats! Teams will be given instruction on numberous aspects of team play at the beginning of each session by the UK Volleyball staff and players. In addition, all teams will play a minimum of 6 matches of team play throughout the day as you start to prepare for your upcoming high school season. There will be two days (June 12 & 19) to come to camp as a team and play other high school teams whiel preparing for your fall seasons!

Equestrian Camps

Camp Midway is on the beautiful campus of Midway College, located just outside of Lexington. The Equine "Between the Ears" Camp is for beginners to intermediate riding levels. The camp includes lunch and a t-shirt for campers.

Healing Hooves incorporates the use of horses to facilitate the grieving process for those who have experienced the death of a loved one. The program combines counselors, equine specialists and horses to assist children with the healing process and help promote healthy coping skills.

Millersburg, Kentucky
Our camp is geared toward children ages 5-15. Campers get two mounted lessons daily, plus plenty of unmounted instruction, crafts, games and more! There is also Friday afternoon "Horse Show" each week. Emphasis is on FUN and SAFETY!

Join us for 8 weeks of summer riding run! Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with early drop off and late pick up available. Indoor arena for rain days. All horses, all day long for a one of a kind summer program.

Wilmore, Kentucky
Campers will be involved in learning how to ride horses as well as how to care for them. There are two riding times daily, hands on learning, some craft time as well as recreation. These camps are for beginners to advanced with a special camp set aside for our youngest riders. There is one overnight camp offered as well. This is a great place to be if your child is interested in horses.

General Camps

North Central 4-H Camp, Carlisle, Kentucky
4-H Camp KaBoom! A 4-H Summer Camp is for youth who live or attend school in Woodford, Scott or Franklin Counties. This four-day, three-night camp provides youth with opportunities to fish, canoe, swim, explore nature, learn about archery, meet new friends and gain independence. Campers stay in cabins with adult and teen counselors, who are screened and from the same county as the campers.This camp session is only for youth in Woodford, Franklin, and Scott counties. Each county in Kentucky has a 4-H Summer Camp program. Please contact the UK Cooperative Extension Service in your home county for more information concerning camps for youth in other counties.

Feltner 4-H Camp, London, Kentucky and North Central 4-H Camp, Carlisle, Kentucky
Youth will attend overnight 4-H Camp for one week and take selected classes including: swimming, archery, basketball, cool foods, challenge course, high ropes, jewelry making, nature, outdoor games, recreation, riflery, leadership, and more.

Lexington, Kentucky
With an FAA certified pilot, students will participate in planning and conducting a flight in the central Kentucky area. Student activities inclue flight simulation, navigation, aeronautics, airplane instruments, airplane design, weather, air traffic control, careers, etc. Campers also get a photo of themselves with an airplane. Lunch, snacks and drinks and camp t-shirt are provided.

Camp Kearney (via Fayette County Parks and Recreation)
Camp Kearney's activities will include canoeing, archery, fishing, games, swimming and more.

Dates: Tentatively June 9 - August 1 (four 2-week sessions pending Fayette County school schedule)

Registration: Registration for all Parks and Recreation camps will be held beginning at noon on April 22 with online registration. Walk in registration will be from noon until 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 24. Online and walk-in registration will continue after that time for any available slots. 
 
Camp Midway (Girl Power! Camp) is on the beautiful campus of Midway College. This camp empowers young girls to be leaders while having fun competing in athletics. Camp includes lunch and a t-shirt for campers.

CDCB will be offering pre-school summer camp spots on a limited bases to children 3 years - kindergarten eligible (must not have started kindergarten yet). We provide a classroom environment and a curriculum to support social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development for all children. Our pre-school summer camp will include a daily schedule of activities to provide a balance of indoor/outdoor activities, quiet/active activities, individual/group activities and more. We provide breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack.

A weekend retreat at Cathedral Domain Camp and Conference Center in Irvine for children who have experienced the death of a loved one within the past two years. Space is limited.
Ages: 6-12
Dates: September 12-14
 
The camp offers themed based hands on math, science, literacy, arts and crafts, P.E., dance and movement along with weekly field trips. Camp includes a full meal breakfast, lunch and snack. Facility features two full-sized basketball courts, walking track, aerobics room, soccer field and football field.

Give your child the summer of a lifetime! Life Adventure Center's co-ed day camp (grades 2 - 9) offers horse riding, canoeing, swimming, fishing, archery, climbing and tons of outdoor fun, guided by a highly trained and certified staff. The Summer Fun Adventure Camp is a day camp for children who have just completed kindergarten to children who have just completed 5th grade. Campers will get to experience camp both at Lake Reba Park and at the Parks & Recreation Center. All campers will also get to experience Paradise Cove and Adventure Falls throughout the summer. Activities at Lake Reba include outdoor games, scavenger hunts, hiking, swimming, and crafts. Activities at the Recreation Center include field trips, arts and crafts, games, water games, and lots of fun!

Camp Shalom is the only Jewish summer day camp in the central Kentucky area. The non-denominational program provides a safe and comfortable setting for children from all backgrounds and streams of Judaism to come together and learn about Jewish culture, history, and identity regardless of their individual background or level of observance. Camp is open to children of all religions. Camp activities include: water games, nature, sports, art, games and chugim (daily electives that each camper will choose often including nature or science, cooking, art, sports, dance, drama and more). At the end of each week, parents are invited to join us for an open house where we will share in a Shabbat experience, have a brief talent show, and hear a summary of our week together by the staff.

Camp Young Judaea Midwest
Located in Waupaca, Wisconsin, Camp Judaea Midwest has created a Jewish camp experience for children for more than 40 years. Our beautiful 80 acre lakefront property provides the opportunity to explore, take on new challenges, and make friendships that last a lifetime. Younger campers get to experience a wide range of land and water sports, arts and crafts, rock climbing and more. Older campers get an increased amount of choice to customize their experience with “tracks” such as outdoor adventure, media arts and drama, and advanced water sports. Campers come from more than 15 states around the country to join our small community, only 130 campers per session.
