Existing Institutional Research Elements
Academic units should take advantage of existing information from institutional databases to establish measurable objectives and evaluate their progress. The Office of Institutional Research routinely furnishes units undergoing Program Reviews with an array of information that can be used to evaluate programs and refine strategic plans, including:
- Degrees Awarded
- Graduation/Retention Rates
- Alumni Survey Data
- Teacher/Course Evaluations
- Faculty Salaries
The above data elements can also be used to develop objectives and criteria for annual assessment plans. For instance, a department could develop goals to increase overall enrollments over a period of time or award more degrees to women and minority students.
