Association for the Assessment of Learning in Higher Education (AALHE)
The Association for the Assessment of Learning in Higher Education (AALHE) is an organization of practitioners interested in using effective assessment practice to document and improve student learning. As such, it aims to serve the needs of those in higher education for whom assessment is a tool to help them understand learning and develop processes for improving it.
Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching (CELT)
CELT's mission is to promote and support excellence in teaching and learning at the University of Kentucky. They work with all instructors at UK and collaborate with many other academic support units to create engaging, innovative and inclusive learning environments in which diverse students can excel.
Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE)
The Council on Postsecondary Education coordinates change and improvement in Kentucky’s postsecondary education system as directed by the Kentucky Postsecondary Education Improvement Act of 1997. The Council is a statewide coordinating agency comprised of fifteen members with thirteen citizens, one faculty member, and one student appointed by the Governor; the Commissioner of Education is an ex-officio member.
Office for Faculty Advancement
The Office for Faculty Advancement provides support and resources for the promotion and tenure programs and process, offers faculty development opportunities, forsters recognition of faculty achievements in both scholarship and teaching, partners with units to recruit, retain and support a diverse faculty, and promotes leadership development of faculty into academic positions
Office of the Provost
The goal of the Provost's office is to be a resource for all of the University of Kentucky, with a primary emphasis on enhancing UK's academic excellence and its brand as an institution that focuses on the Commonwealth in ways that have a global impact.
The University Senate formulates and implements educational policies of the University as described in the Governing Regulations.
