Periodic Review Orientation

The Office of Planning & Institutional Effectiveness  provides university oversight of the review of organizational units as defined by University Governing Regulations IX-1: “The performance of each educational and administrative unit in the University* shall be reviewed  comprehensively at regular intervals by an ad hoc committee. The review period shall normally be from five (5) to seven (7) years.”

To facilitate the process, the Office of Planning and Institutional Effectiveness offers periodic review orientations that address the following:
      • periodic review calendar;
      • unit roles and responsibilities in conducting, reviewing, and evaluating unit self-studies;
      • the purposes and expectations of external reviewers and the external review
        reports;
      • the goals of the external review team,
      • unit implementation plan or ‘action’ plan; and
      • the different uses of institutional data to inform unit decision-making.
