China University of Mining and Technology

Founded in 1909, China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT) is the oldest university in China focusing on mining engineering and it is a Project 211 university.  It contains nineteen schools and offers 60 undergraduate programs, 100 master’s programs, and 50 doctoral programs.  It enrolls approximately 40,000 students. 

UK signed its first 2+2 transfer articulation agreement with CUMT in 2004.  The agreement has been renewed twice, in 2008 and again in 2013.  The College of Engineering enrolls on average a half dozen CUMT students each year through the 2+2 program.  In 2012, CUMT expressed interest in expanding its relationship with UK and, in 2013, signed an agreement to extend the 2+2 program to include the Gatton College of Business and Economics.
