The UK Proposal Development Office assists faculty, staff, and students to seek and secure external funding for their scholarly activities through the submission of competitive grant and contract applications.

Global Health at NIH
The 27 Institutes and Centers (ICs) at the NIH are engaged in global health research and research training activities.

• Fogerty International Center- National Institutes of Health  
  The Fogarty International Center is dedicated to advancing the mission of the National Institutes of Health by supporting and facilitating global health research conducted by U.S. and international investigators, building partnerships between health research institutions in the U.S. and abroad, and training the next generation of scientists to address global health needs.
   
• NIH Common Fund's Global Health program
  • Medical Education Partnership Initiative (MEPI)
    Provides grants to African institutions.  
     
  • Human Heredity and Health in Africa (H3Africa)
    Solicits applications from foreign Institutions in African countries who wish to develop the study of genomic/genetic/environmental contributors of human health and disease within Africa to understand health and diseases affecting African populations.  

Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation 
Awards a majority of its grants to organizations and other tax-exempt organizations that are identified by their staff. The foundations does not make grants directly to individuals.

Kellogg (W.K.) Foundation 
Provides grants to individuals and organizations seeking to forward and better their communities and other subjects identified by their organization.
