It enrolls approximately 40,000 students and consists of thirty schools (including law, liberal arts, engineering, life science, fine arts, foreign languages, management, and international education).
UK was partnered with SHU in 2010 when the UK Confucius Institute was founded. UK and SHU jointly manage an American Studies Center at SHU, funded by a grant from the US Embassy / Beijing. In June, 2013, twenty-nine UK faculty members taught short courses at SHU in a program designed to give SHU students an international experience and provide an opportunity for UK faculty members to become better acquainted with SHU and build relationships with SHU faculty. SHU and UK have signed a memorandum of understanding and a 2+2 transfer articulation agreement (through which two students enrolled at UK in 2012 and two more in 2013).
