Kim Spalding

Kimberly Spalding was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio where she earned her BBA in Finance and MS in Health Education at the University of Cincinnati. Prior to coming to UK, she worked at the University of Cincinnati implementing employee wellness initiatives and worked at the Society for Public Health Education in Washington D.C. In her role at UK, she provides support to the Global Health Initiative assisting students, staff, and faculty.

Derrick Meads

Derrick Meads began working at the University of Kentucky in 2006 as the Director of Communications for the College of Design, where he spearheaded the College’s re-branding efforts through a new website and student recruitment materials.

Meads now serves as the Manager of Marketing and Communications for the University of Kentucky International Center, where he is again leading a re-branding campaign through the development of a new website, print materials and social media. 

Mary Hammons


Mary Hammons began working at the University of Kentucky in 2007.  Prior to coming to the International Center, she spent two years working in Sponsored Projects Accounting tracking receivables on all types of sponsored projects and ensuring compliance with governmental accounting principles, standard practices, and UK business procedures.  She came to the International Center in June of 2012 as the Budget Officer where she oversees grant related activity as well as service center financial standings.
