Bollywood Night

Celebrate Bollywood culture with music, dancing, food and a performance by an Ishaara group. A henna station and photo booth will also be available for students. This free event takes place at the Student Center Grand Ballroom on Thursday, November 20 from 6-8 p.m.

Dancing at Lughnasa

This event takes place on October 2-4 and October 9-11 at 7:30 p.m., and on October 5 and October 12 at 2 p.m. This Tony Award-winning drama tells of the narrator Michael Evans' childhood in Ballybeg, Ireland, raised by his young mother and her four sisters. He recalls the unexpected visit from his father in summer 1936 and days full of Irish folk music and dance in their small cottage. Tickets are $10 for students and $15 for the general public.

#TrendingTopics: Immigration Reform

This free event will discuss the level of responsibility that the United States has in providing opportunities to immigrants. Come participate in an interactive debate about immigration reform. Attendees will haev the chance to ask questions and share their opinions through social media, so be sure to bring your smartphone.

The discussion will take place on Tuesday, September 30 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Student Center Theater.

Hanfu, the traditional clothing of the Han Chinese ethnic group, has an immense history , spanning 4000 years - from the legendary Yellow Emperor all the way to the end of the Ming Dynasty. The Confucius Institute at UK, together with Mu Dan Hong proudly shares with the Bluegrass community the fashion, technology and elegance of this ancient Chinese apparel.

EA Scholarship Workshop

On Tuesday, September 23 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. UK Education Abroad will host its Scholarship Workshop in the Hub of William T. Young Library.

Amaney Jamal will be speaking about democracy around the world on November 7, 2014 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. in the William T. Young UKAA Auditorium.
