The Honors Program believes that international educational experiences are crucial for students to become well-rounded citizens of the world. The Honors Program is excited to be able to offer several education abroad scholarships. The deadline to apply is March 1st for Fall and Summer programs and October 1st for Spring programs.
Education Abroad Scholarship for First Year Students
The Honors Program and Education Abroad office are awarding $2,000 scholarships to several first year Honors students that have never gone abroad. The scholarship can be applied to the costs associated with studying abroad in London, England in Summer 2016. For specific program details visit the Education Abroad website here. To be eligible you must be a freshman, complete fall semester with a 4.0 GPA and never have been abroad before.
Independent Project Grant
This grant is intended to support the anticipated work-related expenses of the Independent Project such as photocopying, purchasing materials and research-related travel. Grants of various amounts will be awarded.
Student Skills Development Award
This award helps to enable Honors Program students to participate in activities to develop skills or to participate in some type of field-based academic effort. Awards of various amounts will be awarded.
Kate Johnson Scholarship
This scholarship helps to enable Honors Program students to participate in activities to develop skills or to participate in some type of field-based academic effort. It is intended to offset the costs of research opportunities, education abroad experiences, conference travel or summer programs.
Journal/Journey Travel Scholarship
The Honors Program offers two $750 scholarships to students who have been participating in the Journal/Journey Project. These scholarships will allow the recipients to travel during the summer on a trip of their own design while keeping a special “travel journal.”
