Health Promotion Abroad Info Session


On Thursday, December 5 at 2:00 p.m. in 207 Bradley Hall, UK Education Abroad will host an info session on Summer 2014 opportunities abroad in Health Promotion.

During this session, the two following programs will be highlighted: 

EA Faculty-Director Workshop Series

Throughout the Winter and Spring, UK Education Abroad will host a series of workshops for faculty directing UK Sponsored Programs.  From start to finish, these workshops are designed to help faculty run successful education abroad programs.

RISE Program Info Session


On Thursday, November 7 at 10:00 a.m. in room 357 of the Student Center,  the Office of External Scholarships will hold and information session on the DAAD RISE (Research Internships in Science & Engineering) Program

Service Learning in Seville Info Session


On Thursday, October 31 at 4:00 p.m. in 207 Bradley Hall, Dr. Ruth Brown will lead an information session on her Service Learning in Seville Program.  

Running from June 16 to July 14, students may earn up to four credit hours on this program (SPA 300 & ISP 599).  Spanish language proficiency at the 202/203 level is required.

Exchanges Drop-in Event


On Wednesday, October 30 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., UK Education Abroad (EA) will hold an exchanges event in the EA Resource Center (315 Bradley Hall).

During this time, students may drop-in to learn more about various exchange programs, chat with exchange program alumni, and hear from current international exchange students about their home institution.  

Free snacks, coffee and tea will be available.

Summer, Fall & Academic Year Pre-Departure Orientations

As a part of the ISP 599 course requirement, Pre-Departure Sessions are an opportunity for students to create goals for their program, manage expectations, and  candidly discuss regional topics including current events, homestay considerations, diversity issues, practical advice, and more. 

Psychology Abroad Info Session


On Monday, October 14 at 4:00 p.m. in 213 Kastle Hall, Dr. Andrea Friedrich and UK Education Abroad will hold an education abroad information session for psychology students.

During this session, students will learn about various psychology programs abroad, funding and scholarship opportunities, and more.

Free pizza and drinks will be served.

Education Abroad Parent Info Session

On Saturday, October 11 at 9:30 a.m. UK Education Abroad will hold a general information session for parents in the Hub of William T. Young Library.

Miko McFarland, Assistant Director of Education Abroad, and Seth Riker, Education Abroad Promotion & Outreach Coordinator, will lead a presentation covering the variety of education abroad experience types, program options, funding opportunities, and more.  After the presentation there will be time for Q & A.

First Generation Family Weekend Luncheon


UK Education Abroad, the Office of First Generation Initiatives, and UK Partner International Studies Abroad (ISA) are hosting a First Generation Family Weekend Lunch on Saturday, October 5 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the courtyard outside Bradley Hall (rain location: Student Center Ballroom).

Winter Program Offerings


UK Education Abroad is offering several new study abroad programs this winter and many are open to students from all disciplines--including a new UK College of Design Thailand program.  

For many students, including those with a highly structured academic plan, the winter term is an ideal time to participate in a program abroad.
