Jillian Madden

My name is Jillian and I am a senior majoring in International Studies, focusing on Asian culture and arts. In the fall of 2015 I studied abroad at Akita International University in Akita, Japan. While I was there I practiced my Japanese and studied Japanese history and culture. Along the way I got stranded in a bullet train station, ate sushi from a conveyor belt, and unintentionally performed a traditional Japanese dance in front of a bunch of strangers. Natalie Yen

Natalie is a senior studying Mathematics and Economics and is expected to graduate in May 2017. She studied abroad in a mathematics program in Hong Kong, China during the academic year 2015-2016, at which she was able to fulfill many of her core requirements. Not only did she enjoy her stay in Hong Kong, she also loved traveling all across Asia. She encourages everyone to step out of comfort zone to go abroad and believes that there is always something for everyone. Feel free to ask her any questions you may have.

Parker Humphrey

Parker is a Marketing major with a minor in Digital Media and Design that studied in Florence, Italy during the fall semester of 2016. She studied different forms of art and marketing while abroad. She loves talking about European cultures, and how they differ from country to country, and give advice about traveling. She has traveled all around Italy, to ten other European counties, and Africa.

Ben Otten

Ben is a junior Arts Administration major, minoring in Theatre and Business. He studied in Paris, France in Summer 2015 and Potsdam, Germany in Spring 2016. While in Potsdam, he studied Cultural Management at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam in a semester long exchange. His favorite part of being abroad was making friends from all over the world and learning more about Germany and the German language. As a Peer Ambassador, he specializes in exchange programs, programs in Germany, and learning new languages while abroad.

Lauren Bix

Lauren is a French major who studied in Caen, Normandy, France in spring semester 2016. The program she participated in was with Sister Cities in association with the University of Kentucky. Her coursework in Caen consisted of phonetics, general history, writing, and grammar. During her time abroad she also traveled to Luxembourg, England, Germany, and other regions of France. She aspires to travel more in the future and go to graduate school for French studies.

Macy Goetz

Macy is an accounting and marketing major with an international business minor. She studied in Cyprus during the Fall 2016 semester and took marketing and accounting classes used to complete major requirements. During her trip she traveled throughout Cyprus and 11 other countries. She most enjoyed getting to meet other students and travelers from all over the world and experiencing many different cultures.

Jasmine Howard-Wilson

Jasmine Howard-Wilson is a Merchandising, Apparel, and Textiles major & an International Studies major. In the Summer 2016, she traveled to Santiago, Dominican Republic to study Agriculture, Food, and Environment and explored diverse communities. During this education abroad experience, she had the opportunity to travel around the Dominican Republic and learn about their agriculture and their local communities between the Dominican and Haitian relations.
