ISC is one of the many registered student organizations on campus.
It is an umbrella organization whose members are representatives
from each international student organization in University of
Kentucky. In other words, all Presidents, or a representative
from each student organization or from a country/culture where
there is no organization are automatically members of this Council.
This Council acts like a planning committee that brings all the
other international (and domestic) student organizations together
to collaboratively organize events on campus. Some of our recent
events include the Volleyball Tourneyment, Holiday Potluck, International
Night, Game Night, and Movie Nights. We also helped with the South
Asia Earthquake Relief Fund at the Student Center.
To get a better idea on what we hope to achieve, the International
Student Council aims at:
- Promoting communication among all international student organizations
in order to coordinate and consolidate activities of international
students;
- Participating actively within the Student Government Association
of the University if Kentucky in order to promote and protect
the interests of international students;
- Uniting the voice of international students concerning matters
pertaining to their welfare; and
- Promoting understanding among the various cultures within
the university and the community-at-large
We always welcome new ideas from new and existing UK students
(as well as alumni). You do not need to be a 'President' to be
a part of this!!!! We understand that some student organizations
are not active. You want to join something. You want to help out.
You want to stay connected. You want to make friends from a diverse
culture, background and an array of interests. Sometimes you come
from a country/culture where you are the only person from that
place/culture. Come join us!!! Check out the membership criteria

We maintain a listserv (mailing list) that we periodically send out notices
on announcements of events, programs, volunteering opportunities, job fairs,
and much more. ANYONE can join the listserv. If you are interested, please
