The Information Technology Services (ITS) Learning Management and Distance Learning teams have organized What You Want to Know Wednesdays at King Science Library. In this instructional series, UK students, faculty, and staff are given the opportunity to learn about several useful technology resources.
“Through this series of workshops, we’re hoping to introduce our faculty to the tools they can use for teaching, as well as the ITS staff who are here to support them. For students and staff, these sessions also provide useful insights to our available software and personnel,” said Kelley Cruse, Learning Management Team Lead.
In the inaugural session, Buddy Hall, an educational technology solution specialist, presented Canvas fundamentals to the group. Canvas is an educational platform that supports a focus on teaching and learning. Hall gave attendees an overview of the layout and features of Canvas, as well as an in-depth view of course navigation and course creation. Instructional designer, Sarah Asher, offered hands-on assistance with creating assignments and managing grades.
The next What You Want to Know Wednesday will take place on September 20th at King Science Library. This session will explore the features of Office 365. For more information contact Kelley Cruse.
