Barren River District Health Department: "Public Health - Start with Why?"

Friday, August 1, 2014 - 1:00pm

In Public Health, we devote a great deal of time to what we do and how we do it, but by focusing on the why, leaders can inspire everyone to take action. This presentation helps Public Health professionals focus on “your why” and learn methods to inspire others to take desired actions.

TEDMED Live - Save the Date

Wednesday, September 10, 2014 - 8:00am to Friday, September 12, 2014 - 4:00pm

.About the Event

TEDMED is a global community of leading doers and thinkers from every walk of life. Our goal is to seed the innovations of today, making possible the breakthroughs of tomorrow.  We are best known for our annual three-day gathering that brings together inspiring speakers, powerful Delegates and innovative start-ups.

TEDMED curates an unusual and provocative program featuring brilliant short talks and stunning artistic performances that reframe our mental models and inspire important new possibilities. TEDMED also offers evening spectaculars, thought-provoking conversations with Delegates and Speakers, and a showcase of inspiring startups called "The Hive".

The result is an immersive experience that allows us to recharge our brains, jumpstart new thinking, energize our work and enlarge our worldview. We come away from TEDMED better able to imagine new possibilities and solutions for the future of health and medicine.

TEDMED 2014: One Event. One Program. Two Stages

From September 10-12, 2014, we’ll bring together Delegates in Washington, DC and San Francisco for this year’s TEDMED gathering. Delegates in both cities will participate in a simultaneous, unified, digitally linked program with equal numbers of live Speakers, Delegates, and innovative Hive startups. The University of California, San Francisco is TEDMED’s research institution partner for the West Coast. Read more.

The full stage program from both cities will be simulcast via TEDMED Live Streaming to 100+ countries. TEDMED Live is available free to thousands of medical organizations, academic institutions and government facilities worldwide.

We hope you'll join us for TEDMED 2014 as we unlock the power of imagination in service of a healthier, more vibrant planet.
