Project 23: Stakeholder Future State Vision Project
PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATORS
Dr. Chike Anyaegbunam, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Integrated Strategic Communication, University of Kentucky Communication and Information Studies
Dr. Ted Grossardt, Ph.D., Program Manager, Policy and Planning Division of the Kentucky Transportation Center
BACKGROUND
The Kentucky Research Consortium for Energy and the Environment (KRCEE) at the
University of Kentucky has been charged with soliciting and integrating public, regulatory, and technical community input to produce a publicly approved Future State Vision Report for the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant (PGDP) and surrounding impacted areas.
It is anticipated that the End State Project’s methodology will integrate participatory
communication appraisal and structured public involvement approaches to ensure maximum participation and project ownership by stakeholders.
Created in 2003 through the actions of Senator Mitch McConnell and administered by the University of Kentucky, the KRCEE supports efforts to complete the remediation of the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant and surrounding impacted areas in an economically prudent yet environmentally sound and responsible way.
