Campbell County MarketReady Marketing Basics Training
The MarketReady Marketing Basic Producer Training Program is for beginning farmers and existing producers who are interested in learning more about the marketing principles needed for on-farm markets, local farmers markets and alternative consumer markets such as restaurants, grocers, retailers, and schools. MarketReady will provide you with a professional marketing education to improve sales relationships and get you up to speed with the latest local food programs and resources. This national program, developed by the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service, will provide you with the tools for business success.
This MarketReady training will be from 9:00AM - 12:30PM at the Campbell County Extension Office and will cover the Direct Marketing Principles: Farmers Markets, C.S.A., On-Farm Retail, and Agritourism Bringing Local Products to Local Consumer Markets sales units.
A panel of buyers assembled with local and regional buyers and technical support professionals will build upon what will be covered in the training. The training includes information about KDA (the Kentucky Department of Agriculture) programs as well as resources from other state and federal agencies like Kentucky Center for Agriculture and Rural Development, Local Health departments and the Food Systems Innovation Center.
- Admission is a one time payment of $25 and will cover training materials, resources, and refreshments for the 3 trainings. Lunch will be provided by the Campbell Co. extension office
- If you are a Farm Start or Homesteading Program participant you will be awarded a $25 scholarship for the training.
- Scholarships covering the $25 registration for the three day program are being provided to those that participated in the Homesteading and Farm Start programs.
- Extension Agents will receive continuing education hours.
