Allison Briley BSN, DNP
Dr. Allison H. Briley received her BSN from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC in 2007 and her DNP from the University of Kentucky College of Nursing in 2012. She is certified as an acute care nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and currently practices with the Pulmonary/Internal Medicine Critical Care Division at the UK Medical Center. Dr. Briley has a strong background in critical care nursing. She worked as a bedside nurse in a Medicine Intensive Care Unit in NC from 2007-2008. When she moved to Lexington in 2008, she began working at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in the Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic ICU Unit. In 2012, she graduated with her DNP from University of Kentucky College of Nursing and began working as an APRN with the Pulmonary Critical Care Division. She currently manages critically ill patients by performing initial histories, performing daily ICU assessments, managing the ventilator, interpreting daily laboratory and radiology examinations, ordering appropriate medications, performing procedures and determining treatment plans with the supervising physician. Dr. Briley has worked with the College of Nursing as a part-time high acuity clinical instructor for BSN students and will continue to co-teach the high acuity content in the classroom and teach clinicals. She is member of several professional organizations and is active in the community.
