Lynn Garman Au Undergraduate Nursing Scholarship
Established in 2009 by Greg H. Au in memory of his first wife, Lynn to honor the quality nursing care she received. This renewable scholarship supports a student with a passion for service to others by providing full in-state tuition. The recipient is expected to initiate, grow or lead a health care education, health screening or a community-based outreach program or event. A faculty mentor provides supervision and support to the student and their chosen project.

Phyllis Antrim Briscoe Memorial Scholarship Fund
Established in 1992 by Dr. John P. Briscoe in memory of his mother, Phyllis Antrim Briscoe, to honor her nursing career and interest in nursing education. This renewable scholarship is awarded to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) student who demonstrates the potential for success and describes a desire for the nursing profession by submitting an essay. First preference is given to Kentucky residents.

Dr. Patricia A. Calico Endowed Nursing Scholarship
Established in 2010 by Dr. Patricia A. Calico and her husband, Dr. Forrest W. Calico in honor of her  distinguished nursing career. This renewable scholarship is awarded to BSN students from Lincoln or Kenton County, Kentucky, or one of the five counties contiguous to Lincoln: Garrard, Boyle, Rockcastle, Pulaski or Casey; or Clay, Whitley or Knox Counties. Recipients should be in good academic standing and have financial need. 

College of Nursing Alumni Association Student Support Scholarship
Established in 2011 by the UK College of Nursing Alumni Association to support BSN students as they pursue their degree in nursing. This scholarship is awarded to a senior involved in College activities  beyond the classroom.

College of Nursing New Opportunity Fund Undergraduate Scholarship
Established in 2010 through annual gifts from alumni and friends of the College to provide discretionary funds for the dean to provide support to BSN students through scholarships, travel funds and other academic-related expenses.

Dodson/Moore Community Health Nursing Scholarship
Established in 2015 by Sarah Dodson Moore who received her BSN and MSN from the UK College of Nursing. She found her true passion for nursing at Nathaniel United Methodist Mission Clinic where she guided the clinic from five volunteers to more than 30 volunteers over 19 years. This renewable scholarship is for a BSN student interested in pursuing a career in community health nursing.   

Marcia Boyd Donaldson Scholarship
Established in 1989 by Dr. Elvis Donaldson Jr. in memory of his wife, Marcia Lynn Donaldson, a 1968 alumna of the UK College of Nursing. This renewable scholarship will be awarded to a BSN student who is a Kentucky resident with financial need.

Everly-Highgenboten Scholarship
Established in 2010 as part of the 50th Anniversary Scholarship Campaign by Sheila E. Highgenboten, MS, RN, FACHER and Carl L. Highgenboten, MD. This renewable scholarship is awarded to a BSN student in good academic standing with financial need.

Major Troy Gibson and Lieutenant Colonel Sally Siebert Scholarship in Honor and Memory of Military Nurses
Established in 1994 by Lieutenant Colonel Sally Siebert, a 1985 alumna, in memory of Troy Gibson, shortly after his death. Mr. Gibson was a 1981 graduate of the UK College of Nursing. This scholarship is awarded to a sophomore BSN student in good standing who needs financial assistance for purchasing equipment, supplies and other necessary nursing tools.

Good Samaritan Volunteers Scholarship
Established in 1997 by the Good Samaritan Volunteers Association of Lexington, Kentucky. This  renewable scholarship is awarded to academically talented, second or third-year BSN students with financial need. Recipients must be U.S. citizens and Kentucky residents.

Vicki Beekman Gorman Undergraduate Nursing Scholarship
Established in 2009 as part of the 50th Anniversary Scholarship Campaign by Mrs. Vicki Beekman Gorman and Mr. F. Chris Gorman to honor her nursing career. The renewable scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in the traditional BSN program who qualified for guaranteed admission. Preference given to Kentucky residents.

Gorman Merit Scholarship
Established in 1990 by Sheila Gorman Steinberg, a 1979 BSN graduate, this renewable scholarship is awarded to BSN students who demonstrate the potential for academic excellence. Preference is given to Notre Dame Academy High School graduates in Covington, Kentucky, or residents of Boone, Campbell or Kenton Counties in Kentucky.

Dr. Jan Coleman Gross Scholarship
Established in 2009 by Dr. Jack B. Gross in memory of his wife, Jan Coleman Gross. Dr. Coleman Gross was a professor in the UK College of Nursing who dedicated her career to supporting students and providing them with outstanding educational opportunities both inside and outside the classroom through programs such as the Blueberry Spa at Cardinal Hill Hospital.  This renewable scholarship is awarded to a BSN student in good academic standing with financial need

Lindsey Marie Harp Memorial Scholarship
Established in 2006 by Rickey and Cheryl Harp in memory of their daughter, Lindsey. Lindsey was an outstanding student with passion for nursing. This renewable scholarship is awarded to a BSN student with preference given to juniors or seniors from Franklin County, Kentucky, Georgetown College or Kentucky residents.

Doris Hatchell Memorial Nursing Scholarship Fund
Established in 1993 through a gift from Mr. Ernest Hatchell’s estate in memory of his daughter, Doris Hatchell. Ms. Hatchell worked all of her professional life as a nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital.  She chose to give her estate to the UK College of Nursing for nursing student scholarships. This one time award is given to deserving BSN students.

James F. Hile Nursing Scholarship Fund
Established in 1999 through his estate. Mr. Hile worked in a family drug store in Ohio, served as a medical representative and owned the sporting goods/variety store “Jim’s” in Nicholasville, Kentucky. This scholarship is given to a BSN student training to be a registered nurse. 

Barbara Hobbie Memorial Fund
Established in 2007 by Mr. Roy L. Hobbie, Jr. in memory of his mother, Barbara Hobbie. This fund provides support to BSN students who have maintained an outstanding academic record, have financial need and submit a letter of reference that emphasizes a history of caring and a compassionate nature. First preference is given to students from rural Kentucky or West Virginia.

Sherry S. Holmes Pediatric Nursing Scholarship
Established in 2013 by Mr. John B. Holmes in honor of his wife Sherry Sallee Holmes’ commitment to the nursing profession. Mrs. Holmes is 1972 BSN and 1982 MSN alumna from UK who practiced as a pediatric nurse for 38 years and served as the Director of Children’s Services for Kentucky Children’s Hospital for 24 years. This scholarship is given to a senior in the BSN program who is a Kentucky resident and actively pursuing a pediatric nursing career.

Ann Hurt/Bryan Station High School Scholarship
Established in 2013 by Dr. Debra G. Anderson and her husband, Mr. William E. Cooper in honor of Ms. Ann Hurt, Bryan Station High School longtime guidance counselor. This renewable scholarship is for traditional BSN students with a minimum 3.0 GPA and financial need. First preference is given to a graduate of Bryan Station High School in Lexington, Kentucky.

Robert B. and Helen P. Jewell Foundation Scholarship
Established in 2014, the Jewell Family Foundation is committed to helping students succeed and provides similar scholarships in several UK colleges. This renewable four-year award is given to a Kentucky resident with high academic ability and demonstrated financial need.

Anna Gibson Kopser Scholarship
Established in 2012 by the family of Mrs. Anna Gibson Kopser to honor her lifelong wish to be a nurse. Mrs. Kopser left the fifth grade to stay home and care for her ailing mother and later volunteered for many years at Saint Joseph Hospital.  This renewable scholarship is for a Second Degree BSN or RN-BSN  student who demonstrates financial need and maintains a minimum 3.0 GPA. 

Barbara Hillborn Kunz Scholarship Fund
Established in 2012 by Dr. Patricia K. Howard to honor her mother, who always supported her educational endeavors. This renewable scholarship is awarded to a traditional BSN, Second Degree BSN or RN-BSN in good academic standing with financial need.

LCC Metropolitan Woman’s Club Scholarship
Established in 1989 for non-traditional (25 years or older) nursing students. This renewable scholarship is awarded to a Kentucky resident with financial need and is awarded until the degree is completed, as long as the recipient shows progress and maintains a 2.5 cumulative grade point average.

Peggy S. McClintock Endowed Nursing Scholarship Fund
Established in 1988 to honor the professional expertise and enthusiasm of Peggy McClintock and her desire to support young people in their career endeavors. Ms. McClintock served as the UK Medical Center personnel director until her death at age 47. This renewable scholarship is awarded to a third-year nursing student who is a Kentucky resident with financial need.  Special consideration may be given to non-traditional students who are over 25 years of age.

Diane Evans Payne Nursing Scholarship
Established in 2014 by Diane Evans Payne and her husband, James R. Payne to help another student receive a “great education” just as Diane received as a UK nursing student. This renewable scholarship is awarded to a BSN student, Kentucky resident in good academic standing with a minimum 3.25 GPA.

Emma H. Peddicord Family Scholarship
Established in 2012 by the Peddicord family in loving memory of Emma H. Peddicord. Mrs. Peddicord was a nurse who passionately devoted her life to her family and her patients. This renewable scholarship is awarded to a full-time BSN student in good academic standing who is a graduate of a Kentucky high school and a current Kentucky resident with demonstrated financial need and a minimum 3.0 GPA. An essay describing the student’s desire to pursue a career in nursing is required.

Pamela Riggs Peters Endowment Fund
Established in 1996 by George Peters, III in memory of his wife, Pamela Riggs Peters. This renewable scholarship is awarded to a BSN student who is a Kentucky resident with financial need.

Gayle Plank Scholarship
Established in 2012 by Mrs. Setsuko Adams to honor Ms. Angela Gayle Plank, a UK HealthCare Chandler Hospital patient care manager, to recognize her outstanding nursing leadership skills and distinguished nursing career. This renewable scholarship is awarded to a BSN student in good academic standing and provides them an opportunity to further explore a career in medical surgery recovery by shadowing Ms. Plank for a day.

Prevost Nursing Scholarship
Established in 2010 by Dr. Suzanne and Mr. Frank Prevost. Dr. Prevost is a former dean of practice and engagement at the UK College of Nursing and is currently the Dean of the University of Alabama Capstone College of Nursing.  This renewable scholarship is awarded to a traditional BSN first generation student.

Howard J., Clarine O. and Dr. Karen R. Robinson Nursing Scholarship
Established in 2011 by the Robinson family to express their appreciation to UK for assisting Karen in earning her BSN in 1977. This renewable scholarship is awarded to a traditional BSN or Second Degree BSN student in good academic standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA.   

Sample Family Scholarship
Established in 1994 by Mrs. Ann Sample in memory of her husband Harry, son, Marc and daughter Kim. The renewable scholarship is awarded to a BSN student in good standing who needs assistance purchasing books and supplies required for clinical course work and laboratory studies.

E. Vernon and Eloise C. Smith Nursing Scholarship
Established in 2006 by Dr. E. Vernon Smith, a native of Greenup County, Kentucky and a UK graduate, in loving memory of his wife, Eloise, his hometown, and his esteemed medical career. This renewable scholarship is awarded to nursing students from Greenup County, Kentucky with high academic standards.

Jane Badham Tudor Scholarship
Established in 1986 by Mr. C.R. Tudor in memory of his wife and the wonderful care she received at UK Chandler Hospital.  Mrs. Jane Badham Tudor was a UK dorm housemother who was dearly loved by all her “girls.”  This renewable scholarship is awarded to a BSN student who demonstrates potential for academic excellence.

Mary P. Winternitz Scholarship
Established in 1965 by Dr. William W. Winternitz to pay tribute to the outstanding qualities of his wife, a nurse and Good Samaritan. This renewable scholarship is awarded to an entering sophomore who through past performance demonstrates potential for nursing success, has financial need and who demonstrates cheerfulness and responsiveness (i.e. warm personal relationships, dependability and dedication) to the needs of others.

Colonial Faye T Hagan
Established in 2016 by the Estate of Colonel Faye T. Hagan, a 1963 BSN graduate and member of the U.S. Air force. This renewable scholarship is awarded to current military, ROTC or veteran student in the Professional Nursing Program

Casiana R. Hilton
Established in 2016 by Mrs. Casiana R. Hilton of Marshfield, MA.  This scholarship is to established to support one or two scholarships annually.  his renewable scholarship is awarded to traditional BSN or Second Degree student that have demonstrated a financial need. Considerations are given to those students that have been involved in community or outreach programs and are from an economically disadvantaged region of Kentucky.

The Krolikoski Family Scholarship
Established in 2016 by Major Richard Krolikoski in memory of his mother, Mary Krolikoski and brother Robert Krolikoski. This renewable scholarship is for a student accepted to the Professional Nursing Program who has expressed interest in working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). Preference is given to those underrepresented in the profession and military veteran

Logan Metzler Family Nursing
Established in 2016 by Dr. Ann Drayton Logan-Metzler and Dr. James Metzler in honor of nurses in their family. This renewable scholarship is awarded to undergraduate nursing students who have a proven commitment to community service as shown by previous volunteer service. 

Karen K. Tufts
Established in 2016 by Ms. Jennifer L. Tufts and Mrs. Natalie T. Young in memory of their mother, Mrs. Karen K. Tufts. Many friends and family also contributed to the creation of this endowed scholarship in honor of Mrs. Tuft’s life and career in mental health. This renewable scholarship is awarded to an RN-BSN, Second Degree BSN or MED-VET BSN student who maintains good academic standing. 

Shayn Elexendere UK College of Nursing Warrior Agreement
Established in 2016 by Colonel (RET.) William M. Heath in honor of Dr. Janie Heath, Dean and Warwick professor of Nursing at the UK College of Nursing. This renewable scholarship is awarded to a Traditional BSN student in good standing who is an ROTC member, veteran of the U.S. Military or is a child of a member of the U.S. Military.

University of Kentucky Medical Center Undergraduate Academic Excellence Scholarship
This renewable scholarship is awarded to BSN students with a minimum cumulative 3.5 GPA.

University of Kentucky Medical Center Undergraduate Enhancement Scholarship for Nursing Students
This renewable scholarship is awarded to BSN students who contribute to the diversity of the College and University through academic standing/class rank, financial need, leadership and community involvement or as a first generation college student, underrepresented in the profession and more.  

University of Kentucky Medical Center Undergraduate Wright Scholarship for Nursing Students
This renewable scholarship is awarded to BSN students who qualify as a University Merit Scholars.  

Linda Bowers Gorton Military/Veteran Nursing Scholarship
This award is for one or more annual scholarships to student(s) in the College of Nursing BSN program that are in good standing and are members in the University ROTC program, veteran of the United States Military, or members of the Active guard or Reserve. Preference is given to students who demonstrate financial need and meet established criteria.
