Open Faculty Positions

The UK College of Nursing has four open faculty positions.

Clinical Title Series (Non-Tenure Track): Undergraduate Nursing Program - High Acuity (Intensive Care)

The University of Kentucky College of Nursing invites qualified applicants for this full-time (10-month) position in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. This non-tenure track position includes developing, coordinating, and teaching content in an undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program, accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. It includes classroom or online instruction; supervision of nursing students in the nursing skills lab and clinical settings; advising students; involvement on college committees; clinical scholarship and membership in professional organizations. It may include service in clinical practice.

Qualifications include a doctor of nursing practice (DNP), doctor of philosophy (PhD) degree or other doctorate in nursing preferred (MSN eligible) with a certification as an advance practice nurse in acute care and eligible for licensure as an advance practice registered nurse (APRN) in the state of Kentucky. The successful candidate must have an active Kentucky RN license. A minimum of two years of full-time or equivalent nursing experience within the last five years is required in the specialty area of High Acuity Nursing (Intensive Care). Previous teaching experience in an accredited BSN program is preferred. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are required. Candidates should have a strong commitment to teaching, scholarship, clinical practice and service.

Special Title Series (Tenure-Track): Graduate Program

The University of Kentucky College of Nursing invites qualified applicants for this full-time (10-month) tenure-track position with primary responsibilities for teaching in areas of expertise at both Lexington and Louisville sites including online or classroom instruction; advising and mentoring DNP students and serving on DNP and PhD student advisory committees appropriate to candidate’s expertise; clinical supervision of DNP students; maintaining a record of scholarly productivity; active involvement in university and college committees as well as service to the profession as well as maintaining a limited clinical appointment appropriate to the candidate’s credentials.
The ideal candidate will have a doctor of nursing practice (DNP) or doctor of philosophy (PhD) degree or other doctorate in nursing with a certification as an advance practice nurse in one of the following specialties: acute care or primary care, with appropriate credentials and expertise. Candidate must be eligible for licensure as an advance practice registered nurse (APRN) in the state of Kentucky.  Experience shall include teaching experience teaching including online and/or distance learning format; evidence of successful doctoral student mentorship; expertise in area of clinical specialty; evidence of excellence in clinical practice o; credentials for an appointment at UK HealthCare and/or UK affiliate, and potential to serve as coordinator of appropriate clinical specialty track.  
Academic rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience.
