Campus Projects

When he became President in July 2011, Dr. Eli Capilouto formed a work group to evaluate the strengths and challenges of the University of Kentucky. He also conducted a "listening tour" involving campus and external constituencies. The result was the identification of the need to transform the infrastructure of the University of Kentucky. At its October 2011 retreat, the UK Board of Trustees endorsed this finding.

Since that time, the University has been pursuing multiple initiatives to upgrade existing facilities such as the Gatton College of Business & Economics, and construct new facilities including residence halls and an academic science building.

The University is also developing a new campus master plan to indicate how best to pursue UK’s missions of teaching, research, outreach and service.
