Research Development & Evaluation Overview

This unit of PIMSER draws upon the mathematics and science disciplinary and education faculty of the University of Kentucky associated with the Appalachian Mathematics and Science Partnership (AMSP) for obtaining funding from federal, state, and business agencies and associations to support the mission of PIMSER.

Proposal writing is supported by the staff of the PIMSER office and, particularly, by the Office of Sponsored Projects Administration (OSPA). There is also a financial team in the Institute to assist faculty in the budgeting process for the research proposal and grant administration.

The PIMSER staff and associated faculty monitor, with OSPA, the funding opportunities from the above sources.

There is, in addition, a development team led by the PIMSER Director that regularly visits industry stakeholders to secure support in various forms.
