World-class care for the Commonwealth
The University of Kentucky's strategic goal is to become one of the nation’s top heart programs. On the way to top rankings, the university knew it would be imperative to locate a nationally acclaimed physician to lead a team striving to make a difference.
UK College of Medicine Division of Cardiology chief Dr. David J. Moliterno and the team of cardiologists at the UK Linda and Jack Gill Heart Institute are committed to providing world-class care for the Commonwealth -- the kind of care that is vital to Kentucky, with its fifth-highest rate of death due to cardiovascular disease.
The Linda and Jack Gill Heart Institute provides comprehensive services in interventional and peripheral vascular cardiology, pediatric cardiology, and cardiovascular and thoracic surgery.
Moliterno was recruited from the Cleveland Clinic and has subsequently recruited several outstanding cardiologists from around the country. UK cardiology faculty bring success to the university’s long-standing, three-fold mission -- patient care, education and research. Nearly 50 scientific manuscripts were published by UK cardiology faculty in leading medical journals in 2004.
