The Center for Clinical and Translational Science
The Center for Clinical and Translational Science aims to transform the pace, effectiveness and quality of translational research at UK, which will ultimately result in better health for all Kentuckians. By combining the basic science strengths of UK with the translational scientific disciplines of community engagement, the center's goal is to establish a continuous pipeline of scientific discovery that will impact the rural Kentucky community, and ultimately lead to discoveries that will impact the global community.
The Center for Health Services Research
The Center for Health Services Research is a campus-wide, interdisciplinary research center focused on creating, testing and scaling next generation solutions for health care delivery to improve both the efficiency and effectiveness of health care delivered within UK HealthCare and overall population health. The goal of the center is to accelerate the discovery of new knowledge concerning clinical effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of health care delivery innovations, particularly for rural and limited-resource settings.
The Center for Interprofessional HealthCare Education
The UK Center for Interprofessional HealthCare Education is designed to overcome competing priorities and time constraints imposed on students, faculty and administrators that can limit and inhibit these education experiences. The center develops, supports, evaluates and sustains an academic culture where health professions students, faculty and staff will work collaboratively as part of their educational experience.
Markey Cancer Center
The Markey Cancer Center was founded in 1983 and is an integral part of the University of Kentucky and the UK HealthCare enterprise. Markey recently became only the 68th National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in the country, and is the only such center in Kentucky. Markey’s multidisciplinary teams treat a variety of cancers, including breast, gynecologic, gastrointestinal, head and neck, lung, brain, hematologic and genitourinary cancers.
