TaxiCats Program

The TaxiCats program, which offers special, flat rate discounted taxi service for University of Kentucky students, has ended.

After March 31, UK students and employees will still have a number of late night transportation options, including on- and off-campus bus services, trolley service and a safety escort service.

Parking & Transportation Services offers the Yellow Night Route, which runs Monday through Thursday, between 6 p.m. and midnight. Additionally, PTS operates an On-Demand Night Bus service Sunday from 7 p.m. to midnight, and Monday through Thursday, from midnight to 5 a.m. Students and employees may telephone the driver directly at (859) 221-RIDE (7433) to make pick-up requests. The bus driver will make every effort to accommodate reasonable requests. Calls must be received at least 30 minutes prior to the end of on-demand service. To view campus bus routes and schedules, visit www.uky.edu/pts/buses-and-shuttles_campus-shuttles.

Members of the campus community can reach SAFE CATS, the student safety escort services, by calling (859) 257-SAFE (257-7233).

For off-campus transportation, students and employees may utilize Lextran buses and the COLT Trolley system. Routes and schedules for these services can be found at www.lextran.com and http://colttrolley.com. Lextran's fare is $1 per ride, while Colt Trolley service is free of charge. UK students may also take advantage of Student Government’s Cats Cruiser service for free, while non-students ride for $1. More information on the program can be found at http://uksga.org/catscruiser.
