Deadline Extended for Bike Trail Feedback

The University Bicycle Advisory Committee (BAC) is now identifying and funding facility improvements and bicyclist education initiatives. A formal connection to Bellefonte Drive has been identified as a priority project by the BAC based on feedback from cyclists and the recommendations of the UK Campus Bicycle Plan (PDF), the LFUCG Greenway Master Plan and UK Arboretum.

In summary, the current proposal is to route cyclists along a trail on the western edge of the Arboretum Woods entering the woods from University Court and exiting across from Wildwood Avenue. Enhanced crossing treatments and way finding signs would be used to connect from this point down Wildwood Avenue to Tahoma Road continuing to Valley Road/Glendover Road. To read more about the proposal and the background, visit (PDF).

The deadline for feedback on the proposed bike trail has been extended to Monday, April 30. Please submit your comments to Stuart Kearns, BAC Chair, at (859) 257-6362 or
