Reminder: Take Your Bike Home for Summer

PTS would like to remind students and employees who are leaving campus for the summer to take their bicycles with them. Unattended bicycles are considered abandoned and are subject to impoundment, even if they are parked in a legal bicycle space. If a bicycle is impounded, the owner will have 90 days to claim it at PTS and pay all citation, storage and impoundment fees. Bicycles unclaimed after 90 days will be disposed of according to University Regulations.

Unattended or abandoned bikes are defined as those that have not moved in 5-10 days. PTS identifies these bicycles with tags before impounding them. If a student or employee who is on campus during the summer months discovers a tag on their bicycle, simply removing it will notify PTS staff that the bicycle is actively being used.
