UK Health & Wellness Offers Free Bike Commuting Class for Employees, Dependents

UK Human Resources is offering employees, retirees and their spouses an opportunity to sign up for Road 101: Bike Commuting Class. The class will be taught by a League of American Bicyclists Certified Instructor and demonstrates on-road riding skills for in-town travel, techniques for bike safety, and basic maintenance. The class will be held Wednesday, April 24, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., behind the Joe Craft Center by the outdoor bleachers. A short ride around campus will be included, so participants must bring their own bike and helmet (required for participation). The commuting class is for competent riders only; participants must know how to ride a bike. A take-home educational handout will be included.

Anyone interested must pre-register at www.uky.edu/HR/wellness/bikeclass.html and sign a waiver (PDF) to bring with them. Class size is limited, and will be cancelled in the event of bad weather.
