Summer Parking Control Begins May 9

During the summer months, Parking & Transportation Services (PTS) will control some student lots for permits. Visit the Summer Parking page for a complete list of impacted lots and other summer parking information. Beginning Monday, May 9, these lots will be controlled for any valid UK permit. Summer permits for students are currently for sale at a cost of $7 per week. Permits may only be purchased in person at Parking & Transportation Services, 721 Press Avenue (Parking Structure #6). The permits may be issued for any number of weeks between May 9 and August 5, 2011.

Please note that even though some lots are not controlled for permits, they are still monitored for other parking violations such as parking in fire lanes, on yellow lines, and in disabled reserved parking. Additionally, all parking meters remain on control during the summer.

Most lots will resume normal control on August 22. For more information on summer parking policies and hours of operation, visit

Finally, as the semester winds down, students are reminded that all student permits expire on Friday, May 6.
