Staff Appreciation Events to Impact Parking;
Small Student Center, Commonwealth Stadium Areas

Staff Appreciation Day will impact parking in the small Student Center parking lot, located off the Avenue of Champions. The entire lot will be closed starting the evening of Tuesday, May 17, and continuing through the evening of Thursday, May 19.

Beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, May 16 and continuing through Thursday, May 19, a portion of the Commonwealth Stadium Blue Lot along University Drive near the corner of Alumni Drive will be unavailable for parking due to preparation and activities associated with UK Fun Night. The lot will be available on Friday, May 20.

Bus and shuttle service will not be affected during this time.

Members of the University community who normally park their vehicles in these lots will need to find other parking in the area. Go to to view a campus parking map.

Free Parking, Transportation for Staff Appreciation Events

In order to accommodate employees who work off campus, Parking Structure #5 (next to Kennedy Book Store on South Limestone) will be available for free parking on Thursday, May 19, beginning at 10 a.m.

Several other lots on North campus will be off control and available for parking throughout the day on Thursday, including the Martin Luther King E lot, the Craft Center E lot and the R1 parking lot.

To serve the needs of those attending the evening UK Fun Night event, the K Blue and K Red lots will be off control and available for parking.

PTS will provide transportation to and from both events via CATS bus. For Staff Appreciation Day, the CATS buses will run continuous loops from the new bus stop near the Hospital Pavilion to Flag Plaza on the Avenue of Champions, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

For UK Fun Night, the CATS bus will run continuous loops from the new bus stop near the Hospital Pavilion to the student bus shelter situated between the K Red and K Blue parking lots from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Members of the campus community are encouraged to tune into 1700 AM (WQKH 253) to hear campus parking and transportation information. The station broadcasts 24 hours, 7 days a week.
