Join PTS During K Week

New to campus? During K Week 2011, UK Parking & Transportation Services (PTS) is offering informational sessions on getting around campus. “UK Parking and Transportation 101” will be held on Saturday, August 20, at 2 p.m., 231 Student Center, and on Monday, August 22 at 4 p.m., 228 Student Center.

A PTS representative will discuss topics such as parking basics, campus buses, alternative transportation and more. Attendees will also have an opportunity to get answers to their questions. Visit www.uky.edu/KWeek for more information. If you can’t attend either presentation, visit our New Student Page for a refresher before classes start.

Campus Bus Routes Begin Fall Semester Service

The CATS Summer/Break Route will continue to run through Tuesday, August 23. This will ensure that areas such as Greg Page Apartments and Cooperstown have bus service until the regular LexTran service starts running.

CATS Bus On-Demand bus service will begin Sunday, August 21. Call (859) 221-RIDE to make a pick-up request. The Red, Blue and Yellow CATS bus routes will resume on Wednesday, August 24, as will campus LexTran service.

The CATS buses are easier than ever to find this year with Cat Tracker, a real-time GPS-based bus locating system! Visit http://uky.transloc.com to see when the next bus is coming to your stop. You can also track the buses via the free Transloc iPhone and Android apps, by using your smart phone to scan the QR codes found on each bus stop sign or by using the SMS codes found at each bus stop.

All CATS buses and campus LexTran buses are free to ride.

More information about the bus routes, including maps and schedule, can be found at www.uky.edu/pts/buses-and-shuttles_campus-shuttles.

Members of the campus community are encouraged to tune into 1700 AM (WQKH 253) to hear campus parking and transportation information. The station broadcasts 24 hours, 7 days a week.
