Parking Impact of Move-In Weekend

With the influx of new students and their parents headed to Lexington for the upcoming Move-In Weekend events and the need to quickly unload vehicles near residence halls, several areas of campus will be restricted to move-in parking only from 6 p.m. Thursday, August 16, through 6 p.m. Friday, August 17.

The impacted areas include:

  • Complex Drive, from University to Sports Center
  • Donovan Drive
  • Martin Luther King – Blazer Parking Lot (E/R1)
  • Sports Center Drive parking areas, with the exception of Parking Structure #7
  • University Drive on-street parking (East side)

Overflow Parking for Residence Hall Move-In

On August 17-19, students and parents moving into the residence halls in the Kirwan-Blanding area will be offered three hours free parking in Parking Structure #7. Parking Structure #7 is located on Sports Center Drive. Those moving into North Campus residence halls may take advantage of three hours free parking in Parking Structure #5, located on South Limestone next to Kennedy Book Store.

All vehicles must be removed from Parking Structure #7 prior to its closing at 10 p.m. Overnight parking without prior approval from PTS is prohibited. Parking Structure #5 will remain open for K Week events throughout the weekend; vehicles must be removed no later than 3 a.m. on Monday, August 20.

Members of the campus community are encouraged to tune into 1700 AM (WQKH 253) to hear campus parking and transportation information. The station broadcasts 24 hours, 7 days a week.
