Class Registration Reminder for Students

Priority registration for 2013 spring semester classes begins Monday, Oct. 29. Students who have unpaid parking citations may be unable to register for classes due to an administrative hold. Don’t forget to pay all of your citations before your class registration window opens. Students can pay citations online at www.uky.edu/pts/online-services_pay-a-citation.

Administrative holds for outstanding citations are not automatically released upon payment of fees. To remove an administrative hold from a student account, please call Parking and Transportation Services at (859) 257-5757 after paying any outstanding fees.

If you are unsure whether you have outstanding parking citations, you may check on our web site, found at www.uky.edu/pts/online-services_pay-a-citation. You may use the myUK portal to check your student account, including any unresolved academic or financial holds.

With cooler weather in Lexington and midterms behind students, many students are looking ahead to the upcoming Thanksgiving and Winter Breaks. UK Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) has a solution for students traveling for the holidays: the PTS Ride Home Express bus service.

The PTS Ride Home Express is an express bus service traveling to hometowns and break destinations during the major academic breaks. The service provides an economical and efficient alternative as compared to other means of travel. For students without cars on campus, it provides a lower cost travel alternative and eliminates the need for families to make repeated trips to and from Lexington. Those with vehicles on campus will also benefit, by avoiding driving during peak holiday travel times or putting wear and tear on their car or truck.

For the 2012-13 edition of the Ride Home Express, PTS will operate three routes, with a total of 15 stops. The final destinations include the metropolitan areas of Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL and Cleveland, OH. Round-trip fares for the PTS Ride Home Express range from $55-$155, with prices varying based on the final destination. UK students are able to register and pay for their trip via the web by logging on to the Parking Account Manager with their Link Blue ID. One-way fares are available in the office only.

PTS recommends registering for the trip as soon as possible. Space is limited, and seats will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. The deadline for purchase for Thanksgiving is Friday, Nov. 2; the deadline for Winter Break is Wednesday, Nov. 28.

For more information on the Ride Home Express, including a list of fares and individual route maps, visit the Ride Home Express page or the Ride Home Express Frequently Asked Questions.
