Demolition of Haggin and K-Lair to Impact Pedestrian Traffic

Due to the pending demolition of Haggin Hall and K-Lair, a fence has been erected to enclose the construction site encompassed between Huguelet Drive, University Drive, Hilltop Avenue, and Rose Street. Access will be limited to the site until May 12; beginning May 13, the site will be closed to public access.

Those who park in Parking Structure #2 off Hilltop Avenue and are going to south campus or to the UK HealthCare campus will need to walk to Rose Street or University Avenue to avoid the construction area.

Pedestrians who normally use this area should use Huguelet Drive, University Drive, Hilltop Avenue and Rose Street to avoid the construction site. Visit http://maps.uky.edu/printablemaps for various campus maps.

Vehicle traffic lanes in the area will not be closed, but travel may be slower than normal due to the construction. Motorists and pedestrians using this area are encouraged to allow extra time in their commute.

Demolition is scheduled to be complete by July 1, at which point site development of the replacement Haggin Hall will begin. The new building is scheduled to be complete by August 2014.

Members of the campus community are encouraged to tune into 1700 AM (WQKH 253) to hear campus parking and transportation information. The station broadcasts 24 hours, 7 days a week.
